Indian Anchor Arnab Goswami Faces Backlash Over Anti-Muslim, Anti-Kashmiri Remarks

New Delhi:Controversial Indian television anchor *Arnab Goswami* has once again come under fire for making *provocative and hate-filled remarks* against Muslims and Kashmiri political leaders during a recent broadcast on *Republic TV*.
In his latest program, Goswami accused Indian Muslims and political figures of being “*anti-national*” and claimed that a so-called “*white-collar jihad*” was underway in India — comments that have been widely condemned by *human rights groups* and civil society activists as deeply inflammatory and discriminatory.
The anchor went on to call former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister *Omar Abdullah* a “*hypocrite*,” saying he could “*never be trusted*.” He also described Kashmiri leaders as “*fake secularists*” and “*deceivers*” who remain “*strategically silent*” to mislead the public.
Goswami further targeted a fellow Indian journalist, alleging that the journalist had praised *Hafiz Saeed* as an “ideal of journalism.”
Media observers and analysts have strongly criticized Goswami’s remarks, noting that his repeated use of terms like “*white-collar jihad*” promotes a *systematic hate narrative* against Indian and Kashmiri Muslims. They argue that such rhetoric not only *violates journalistic ethics* but also *fuels religious intolerance* and undermines efforts toward communal harmony in India.
