PM Shehbaz Sharif Calls Trump “Ambassador of Peace” After Meeting in Washington

Washington: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir held a cordial and warm meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, according to an official statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office.

The statement said that Prime Minister Shehbaz hailed President Trump as an “ambassador of peace,” praising his sincere efforts to resolve global conflicts. He also lauded Trump’s bold and decisive leadership, crediting him for facilitating a ceasefire between Pakistan and India.

According to the communiqué, the Prime Minister acknowledged Trump’s role in averting a potential catastrophe in South Asia and thanked him for consulting Muslim leaders during the process.

The two leaders also discussed bilateral ties, with Shehbaz expressing satisfaction over improvements in U.S.-Pakistan trade relations. He invited American companies to invest in Pakistan’s IT, energy, and mineral sectors, and urged for enhanced cooperation in counterterrorism efforts.

Prime Minister Shehbaz further thanked President Trump for openly supporting Pakistan’s role in regional stability and extended an invitation for him to visit Pakistan.
