Washington:The U.S. Senate has passed a bill to end the **longest government shutdown in American history**, which lasted **41 days**, reopening the doors for federal operations to resume.
According to U.S. media reports, the Senate approved the **annual spending bill** with **60 votes in favor and 40 against**, including support from **eight Democratic senators** who crossed party lines.
The bill now moves to the **House of Representatives**, where the **Republican Party holds the majority**, for final approval before it can be sent to the President’s desk for signing.
