JUI Warns of Disciplinary Action as Senator Ahmad Khan Backs 27th Amendment — PTI’s Saifullah Abro Also Votes in Favor

Islamabad : During the Senate session for the approval of the **27th Constitutional Amendment Bill**, two opposition senators broke party lines and voted in favor of the motion. Despite a boycott by major opposition parties, the amendment secured **64 votes** in support.

The motion to present the amendment bill was tabled by **Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar** under the chairmanship of **Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gillani**. While most opposition members walked out in protest, **PTI Senator Saifullah Abro** and **JUI-F Senator Ahmad Khan** voted in favor of the amendment.

Saifullah Abro remained seated during the protest, refraining from joining the walkout. In response, **JUI-F leader Maulana Ghafoor Haideri** announced that strict action would be taken against party members who violated the party’s stance.

“Our party had categorically decided not to support the 27th Amendment,” Haideri told reporters, adding, *“Any senator who votes against the party policy will face disciplinary action.”*

The Senate session marked a major development in Pakistan’s political landscape as key opposition figures appeared divided over the controversial constitutional reform.
