Government Warns New LNG Connection Seekers: RLNG to Be Costlier, Higher Bills Expected

Islamabad: The **federal government** has issued a clear warning to consumers seeking **new LNG connections**, stating that **Re-Gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG)** will be **more expensive** than conventional Sui gas, resulting in **higher monthly bills**.

Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs **Tariq Fazal Chaudhry** urged consumers to use **heaters and geysers cautiously** to avoid unnecessary gas wastage and manage energy costs efficiently.

Parliamentary Secretary **Mian Khan Bugti** confirmed that the government has **lifted the ban on new RLNG connections**, revealing that **over 250,000 applications** have already been received. He added that **priority will be given to applicants** who had previously submitted their requests.

According to government sources, the **supply of RLNG connections** will be **initiated gradually** to help address **gas shortages during the winter season**.
