ATC Orders Aleema Khan to Appear on February 23 in November 26 Protest Case

Rawalpindi: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has directed Aleema Khan to appear on February 23 in connection with the November 26 protest case, after approving her one-day exemption from attendance.
The hearing was conducted by ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah, who accepted Aleema Khan’s request for exemption from appearing in court and adjourned the proceedings until February 23.
In the plea seeking exemption, it was stated that the initial hearing date was set for the 23rd but was later changed to the 20th without her knowledge, resulting in her absence.
During the proceedings, the court also summoned the remaining two prosecution witnesses, both investigation officers, and directed that their cross-examination be completed at the next hearing. Summons notices have also been issued to all other accused individuals in the November 26 protest case.
The prosecutor informed the court that statements and cross-examinations of 16 witnesses have already been completed, with only two remaining. He added that the prosecution’s case will be concluded once the cross-examination of the investigation officers is finalized.
