Crackdown on Unregistered Restaurants Begins in Islamabad

Islamabad: The Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) has announced a major crackdown on unregistered food outlets and restaurants across the federal capital, starting December 1.
Ahead of the official operation, authorities partially sealed the popular *Kabul Restaurant* located in Jinnah Super Market for violating cashless payment regulations. The action followed public complaints on social media that the restaurant was not accepting card payments.
According to the IFA, **all hotels, restaurants, bakeries, cafés, and fast-food outlets** must complete their registration by **November 30**, after which no unregistered business will be allowed to operate.
The Director of the Food Authority stated that **daily inspections** will begin from **December 1**, and any food outlet found unregistered will be **immediately sealed** and face **heavy fines**.

Both **online and offline registration options** are available, and a **dedicated helpline** has been set up to assist citizens with the registration process.
