Sheikh Rashid Files Contempt of Court Petition After Being Barred from Performing Umrah

Rawalpindi: Former Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has filed a contempt of court petition with the Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi Bench, after being prevented from traveling for Umrah.
The petition was submitted through his lawyer, Sardar Abdul Razaq Khan. Sheikh Rashid was scheduled to depart for Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, but immigration authorities stopped him at the airport, despite a court order allowing him to travel.
Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan of the Lahore High Court had previously granted him permission to go to Saudi Arabia for Umrah.
The contempt of court petition is scheduled for hearing on Monday, November 10.
