People of Balochistan Deliberately Kept in Poverty, Resources Concentrated in Few Hands: Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch

**Quetta (Daily Qudrat)** — **Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch**, Ameer of **Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan** and Member of the Provincial Assembly, has accused the ruling elite of **deliberately keeping the people of Balochistan in poverty, unemployment, and backwardness**, while the province’s vast resources remain **confined to a handful of influential individuals.**
Addressing a gathering of party workers at **Al-Falah House, Quetta**, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman said the **current government and assembly members have become powerless**, prioritizing **personal and political interests over public welfare.** He emphasized the urgent need for **timely and transparent local body elections** to ensure the **transfer of power and resources to the grassroots level**, enabling practical solutions to citizens’ problems.
He lamented that residents of Quetta are **deprived of quality education, healthcare, clean drinking water, and proper traffic management**, adding that major urban projects like **“Safe Quetta” and “Safe City”** have proven to be **mere showpieces without tangible results.**
Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman reaffirmed that **Jamaat-e-Islami believes in politics of service, integrity, and sacrifice**, and vowed to continue its struggle to transform **Quetta into a modern, peaceful, and developed city similar to Karachi.**
The gathering was attended by **District Ameer Abdul Naeem Rind**, **Maulana Abdul Hameed Mansoori**, **Ijaz Mahboob**, **Jameel Ahmed Mashwani**, and a large number of party workers.
