PM Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Gen Asim Munir to Attend Azerbaijan’s Victory Day Parade Alongside Turkish President Erdoğan

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir will undertake a one-day visit to Azerbaijan on **November 8** to participate in the **Victory Day Parade** in Baku, at the special invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
According to official sources, the invitation was extended following a **telephone conversation between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Aliyev**. The two leaders discussed bilateral relations and regional developments, after which the Azerbaijani President invited the Pakistani leadership to attend the celebrations.
The **Victory Day** marks Azerbaijan’s military triumph and the liberation of the **Nagorno-Karabakh region** from Armenian occupation. The grand ceremony will be attended by top regional leaders, including **Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan**, who, along with PM Shehbaz Sharif and General Asim Munir, will serve as the **three chief guests** at the event.
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to hold **bilateral meetings with President Ilham Aliyev and other Azerbaijani officials**, while a **meeting with President Erdoğan** is also likely.
Pakistan and Türkiye had **firmly supported Azerbaijan** during its conflict with Armenia, and their presence at the Victory Day parade underscores the deep strategic and fraternal ties among the three nations.
