Only a Representative Afghan Government Can Resolve Bilateral Issues: ISPR Chief

Rawalpindi: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (**DG ISPR**) Lieutenant General **Muhammad Ahmed Chaudhry** has said that the resolution of issues related to Afghanistan is only possible through a government that truly represents the Afghan people.
Addressing journalists in Rawalpindi, the DG ISPR revealed that during recent border clashes, **206 Afghan Taliban fighters and 112 militants affiliated with extremist groups** were killed.
He stated that **Pakistan will never hold talks with terrorists**, emphasizing that the country’s **response to the Afghan Taliban was swift and effective**, producing the desired outcomes.
Lieutenant General Chaudhry further said that **Afghanistan’s conditions hold no significance for Pakistan**, as the **elimination of terrorism remains the top priority**.
He added that **drug smugglers have deeply infiltrated Afghan politics**, and large quantities of narcotics continue to be **smuggled into Pakistan from Afghanistan**.
Commenting on global matters, the military spokesperson clarified that **any decision to send peacekeeping forces to Gaza** will be made by the **government and parliament**, not the military.
He reaffirmed that the **Pakistan Army does not wish to engage in politics** and should be kept away from political controversies, stressing that the institution’s focus remains on national security and stability.
