Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Adds Gojri as Sixth Official Language in Assembly Rules

Peshawar: The **Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly** has officially included **Gojri language** in its rules and procedures, making it the **sixth recognized language** of the provincial legislature after Pashto, Hindko, Saraiki, and English.

The amendment to the assembly rules was presented by **Provincial Law Minister Aftab Alam** and approved by the house.

Speaker **Babar Saleem Swati** stated that thousands of people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa speak Gojri and that the language holds a rich tradition of poetry and literature.

He further noted that ever since the inclusion of other regional languages in the assembly’s rules, the secretariat had received numerous **calls and emails requesting the addition of Gojri**.

The Speaker announced, “We have now officially included Gojri as the sixth language in the assembly’s proceedings. I congratulate everyone on this new inclusion.”
