Shah Mahmood Qureshi Hospitalized from Jail; Surprise Visit by Former PTI Leaders Sparks Political Stir

**LAHORE/ISLAMABAD (Daily Qudrat):** Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman **Shah Mahmood Qureshi** has been **shifted from jail to PKLI Hospital** after reportedly suffering from gallstones. According to hospital sources, **Qureshi has been under treatment since October 28**, and his **gallbladder surgery** is expected soon. Dr. Faisal is currently supervising his medical care.
In a surprising development, **former PTI leaders** — including **Fawad Chaudhry, Imran Ismail, and Mahmood Molvi** — paid an **unexpected visit** to Qureshi at the hospital, triggering **a new wave of political speculation** in national circles.
According to insiders, this meeting has created a **political storm**, as reports suggest that PTI’s **former senior leadership** is planning to **launch a “Free Imran Khan Movement.”** The group reportedly includes **Asad Umar, Ali Zaidi, Sibtain Khan**, and other ex-leaders. They plan to **seek Imran Khan’s approval** for the campaign and aim to bring together **political figures from Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa** to strengthen the movement.
Sources further claim that these leaders believe **the current PTI leadership has failed to secure Imran Khan’s release**, and that **Shah Mahmood Qureshi** will take on a more **active political role** after his expected release.
Speaking from the hospital, Qureshi confirmed that **doctors had earlier detected gallstones** while he was in solitary confinement at Adiala Jail. He said the condition worsened, leading to infection risk, which prompted doctors to recommend surgery. “**Allah knows I am innocent. He will pave the way for my freedom,**” he said, requesting **prayers from supporters** and expressing **hope for the country’s stability.**
Meanwhile, **PTI senior leader Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed** has also been **transferred from Kot Lakhpat Jail to Jinnah Hospital** due to a **chest infection**. He is being treated in **Private Room No. 9** of the hospital.
