Minister of State Talal Chaudhry Hails Pakistan’s ‘Principled Victory’ in Peace Talks with Afghan Taliban

Islamabad:Minister of State for Interior **Talal Chaudhry** has welcomed the joint communiqué issued after Pakistan-Afghan Taliban talks, calling it a “victory for Pakistan’s principled stance.”
In his statement, Chaudhry expressed optimism that the peace process will now move forward positively. He emphasized that **Afghanistan’s stability is directly linked to Pakistan’s peace**, and reiterated Pakistan’s consistent position that no country’s territory should be used against another.
Warning against foreign influence, the minister cautioned that **Afghanistan risks losing its sovereignty if it becomes a proxy for India**, adding that “India cannot guarantee Afghanistan’s security or independence.”
The statement follows the latest round of **peace talks between Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban**, mediated by Turkey and Qatar, during which both sides agreed to **extend the ceasefire** and continue negotiations.
According to the joint communiqué, both parties will finalize the **implementation framework of the ceasefire** during the next round of talks in Istanbul on **November 6**. The two sides also agreed to establish a **joint monitoring and verification mechanism** empowered to impose penalties on any party found violating the agreement.
