Government Employees Are Servants of the People — Delays in Resolving Public Issues Will Not Be Tolerated: Balochistan Chief Secretary
Temporary Hiring in Education and Health Departments, Strict Price Monitoring, and Faster Repatriation of Illegal Immigrants Ordered
**Quetta (Daily Qudrat)** — Chief Secretary Balochistan **Shakeel Qadir Khan** has said that *government employees are the servants of the people* and that *public service is their foremost duty*. He emphasized that all officers must perform their responsibilities with compassion and dedication to bring real improvement in the lives of ordinary citizens.
He expressed these views while presiding over a **conference of commissioners and deputy commissioners** held in Quetta on Thursday. The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary (Development) **Zahid Saleem**, Secretary Information **Imran Khan**, Secretary Industries **Khalid Sarpara**, and divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners via video link.
The Chief Secretary said that the **Balochistan government is committed to ensuring transparent and efficient governance** for public welfare. He informed that **temporary recruitments have been made in the education and health departments**, which have significantly improved institutional performance.
He directed the **Education Department** to fill vacant positions in the third recruitment phase without delay, while the **Health Department** was instructed to ensure the *complete and timely supply of medicines* to hospitals across the province.
Chief Secretary Khan also ordered **strict enforcement of official price controls** for essential commodities, ensuring that consumers have access to affordable and quality goods. He instructed district administrations to continue holding **open public hearings (khuli kachehris)** so that citizens’ grievances could be resolved on the spot.
He further directed that **government departments must keep their social media accounts active** to ensure timely dissemination of public information and guidance. He noted that a strict ban on **plastic bags** is being enforced as part of efforts to curb environmental pollution.
Regarding illegal immigrants, the Chief Secretary said that the **repatriation process of undocumented foreigners** from various districts is ongoing and that a large number have already returned. He instructed the relevant authorities to **accelerate this process** for effective implementation of government directives.
