Pakistan Blames Afghan Taliban for Failed Talks, Warns of Strong Response if Attacks Continue

ISLAMABAD:Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar has blamed the Afghan Taliban for the failure of recent negotiations between Pakistan and Afghanistan, saying the Taliban’s refusal to provide a written commitment against terrorist groups exposes their duplicity.
Speaking to reporters, Tarar said, “It is pure hypocrisy not to give a written assurance against terrorists. This proves that the Afghan Taliban not only support but continue to shelter them.” He added that Pakistan reserves the right to defend itself and will defeat Afghanistan even in this proxy war.
Tarar asserted that Afghanistan cannot match Pakistan in a conventional war, reminding that “Pakistan has already defeated an enemy four times larger.” He vowed that the alliance between what he called “the mischief of Khawarij and Hindustan” would be crushed.
He maintained that diplomatic channels will remain open, but warned that any attack from Afghanistan or use of its soil against Pakistan will receive a “crushing response.” Tarar said a final decision on the Pak-Afghan border situation will be made within a few days, adding that the border will remain closed until then.
