Pashtun Prosperity Impossible Without Control Over Resources, Says Khushal Khan Kakar

**MARDAN / QUETTA (Qudrat Daily)** – Chairman of the **Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party**, **Khushal Khan Kakar**, has said that peace and prosperity for the Pashtun people are impossible without their control over local resources. He urged all **patriotic and democratic forces** to unite for national rights and self-determination.
Addressing public gatherings organized by the party in **Pir Shanor Pul, Takhtbhai, and Jalala (Mardan)**, Khushal Khan Kakar, Co-Chairman **Mukhtar Khan Yousafzai**, Central Secretary **Ali Haider**, **Gohar Ali**, Provincial President **Ashraf Hoti**, and **Mumtaz Mubarez Nazif Khan** highlighted that deprivation, poor governance, and external control over resources are the main barriers to peace and development in Pashtun regions.
Speakers said that the **poverty and backwardness** of Pashtunkhwa are rooted in **historic exploitation** and **external control over natural wealth**, adding that sustainable solutions can only be achieved when local people have authority over their own resources and decisions.
They criticized the concentration of power among a few elite groups, which they claimed has undermined the **parliament, judiciary, and media**, and noted that despite being rich in energy resources, **Pashtunkhwa remains in darkness**. The province, they said, is owed nearly **Rs. 2 trillion** by the federal government.
The leaders proposed the creation of a **united Pashtun province from Bolan to Chitral**, ensuring constitutional and political rights for the Pashtun nation. They also called for the reopening of **trade routes with Afghanistan**, saying it would revive the regional economy.
Concluding their speeches, they emphasized that the **formation of the Pashtun National Front** is essential for the survival, unity, and prosperous future of the Pashtun people.
