Trump Recalls Role in Averting Pakistan-India War, Claims Seven Aircraft Were Shot Down
TOKYO:Former U.S. President **Donald Trump** once again referred to the **Pakistan-India conflict**, claiming that **seven “new and beautiful” aircraft were shot down** during the confrontation.
Addressing a gathering of business leaders in **Tokyo**, Trump said he had managed to stop many wars through the use of **tariffs**, calling it a major service to global peace.
The former U.S. president remarked that **“70 percent of stopping wars is linked to trade,”** adding that he had warned **Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi** and a **Field Marshal in Pakistan** that the United States would halt trade with both countries if they went to war.

According to Trump, the situation between the two nuclear-armed nations **de-escalated within 24 hours** after his intervention. “We used our brains,” he said, noting that both countries wanted to maintain trade ties with the U.S. “It was amazing how quickly they were ready to make deals,” he added.
Trump further stated that since **both Pakistan and India are nuclear powers**, any war between them could have had devastating global consequences. “A nuclear conflict would have killed millions. We are glad they chose peace,” he concluded.
