NEPRA Imposes Rs140 Million Fine on Three State-Owned Power Distribution Companies

ISLAMABAD:The **National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA)** has imposed a total fine of **Rs140 million** on three state-run electricity distribution companies over poor performance during the fiscal year 2023–24.
According to NEPRA, penalties have been levied on the **Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO)**, **Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO)**, and **Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO)**.
The fines were imposed after the companies were found guilty of **overbilling, inaccurate reporting, and failure to improve revenue recovery**.
NEPRA has directed all three companies to **submit the penalty amount within 15 days**.
