Massive Wildfire Erupts on Jandran Hills in Kohlu; Forests and Wildlife Under Threat

*Islamabad (Qudrat Daily)* — A **massive fire** has engulfed large parts of the **Jandran mountain range** in **Kohlu**, causing extensive damage to **trees, shrubs, and natural vegetation**. The **Forest Department** personnel, despite **limited resources**, are struggling to contain the blaze as **strong winds** continue to spread the flames rapidly.

According to **Divisional Forest Officer Jan Muhammad Kakar**, the **rough terrain** is hindering access to the affected area, but **forest officials and local volunteers** are making continuous efforts to extinguish the fire. He added that the **exact cause of the fire** is still unknown, though it is suspected to have been triggered by **human negligence or the ongoing dry weather**.

**Deputy Commissioner Azeem Jan Domar** stated that a **special Quick Response Force (QRF)** team of **70 Levies personnel** has been dispatched to the site, under the supervision of **Risaldar Major Sher Muhammad Marri**.

The **district administration** has assured full support to the Forest Department and urged the **local population** to avoid the mountain area to prevent any loss of life.

Environmental experts have warned that the **Jandran wildfire** poses a **serious threat** not only to the **natural ecosystem** but also to the **wildlife** inhabiting the region.
