Governor Mandokhail Orders Free Travel for Disabled Persons, Fare Discounts for Seniors and Students in Quetta’s Green Bus Service

**Quetta (Kudrat Daily):** Governor of Balochistan **Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail** has directed that **disabled persons be allowed free travel** on the **Green Bus Service** and that **senior citizens and students** be provided with **special fare concessions**.
During a meeting at **Governor House Quetta** with **Provincial Transport Secretary Hayat Khan Kakar** and **Public-Private Partnership CEO Dr. Faisal Kakar**, the governor also instructed authorities to **immediately schedule two new buses from Quetta to Education City** to improve accessible and equitable public transport for citizens.
Governor Mandokhail remarked,
> “I take joy in the happiness of the poor. Any project that centers around public welfare is always commendable and destined for success.”
He lauded the **Green Bus Service** as a **people-friendly initiative**, noting that it provides **modern and dignified transport facilities** to residents of Quetta and nearby areas.
The governor further disclosed that **21 Green and Pink buses have arrived in Karachi** and will soon begin operations in **Quetta and Turbat**. Among them, **four Pink buses are designated exclusively for women**, a step he described as **commendable for ensuring safe and respectful travel for women**.
Governor Mandokhail directed the **provincial transport department** to prioritize **public convenience and welfare** in all aspects of the project, emphasizing that such initiatives would help establish a **modern, safe, and dignified public transport culture** across Balochistan.
