Organized and Dignified Repatriation of Afghan Refugees Continues Through Chaman Border

Chaman:The **orderly and dignified repatriation** of Afghan refugees through the **Pak-Afghan Friendship Gate** at the Chaman border is continuing under the supervision of the Government of Pakistan. Officials emphasize that the process is being carried out **in accordance with all legal and administrative protocols** to ensure transparency and efficiency.
Over the past four decades, **Pakistan has hosted millions of Afghan refugees**, providing them with shelter, employment, and safety — a testament to the country’s humanitarian spirit and regional solidarity. Now, the government is fully mobilizing resources to facilitate their **safe and respectful return** to Afghanistan.
According to official sources, **all travel documents are thoroughly verified** before refugees are allowed to cross into Afghanistan. Currently, **between 3,000 and 4,000 individuals** are returning daily through the Chaman crossing, and approximately **600,000 refugees** have already repatriated in **three phases**.
The **civil administration** and **Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan North** are playing a vital role by providing **temporary accommodation, meals, and essential services** for departing refugees.
As per the latest government directive, **entry into Pakistan will now only be permitted with valid passports and visas**, a move aimed at ensuring national security, legal compliance, and **mutual respect in Pak-Afghan relations**.
Afghan refugees expressed appreciation for the **courtesy, respect, and facilities** extended to them during the repatriation process, praising the efforts of the Government of Pakistan, the civil administration, and FC Balochistan for their humane and organized management of the operation.
