Sohail Afridi Will Be Removed Before Completing His Mission, Claims Talal Chaudhry

*ISLAMABAD:* Minister of State for Interior **Talal Chaudhry** has launched a scathing attack on **Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi**, calling him a *“baby CM”* and claiming that he will be removed before accomplishing the task for which he was appointed.

Speaking on a private TV talk show, Talal Chaudhry said that Sohail Afridi was deliberately installed as a *“baby chief minister”* so that he could be easily controlled. “He doesn’t have independent judgment — whether he’s run by a key or a remote, he just keeps chanting the founder’s name,” Chaudhry remarked.

He added, “The founder may remain where he is, but the decisions for the province’s 40 million people must be made by the chief minister. What has Sohail Afridi done in two weeks of his tenure for health, education, or governance? Has he even said once what he intends to do for his province?”

Chaudhry predicted that Afridi would not last long in office, saying, *“He’ll be removed before completing his assigned role — and when he goes, he’ll take PTI down with him.”*

Commenting on **Afridi’s request to meet Imran Khan in jail**, Chaudhry said that Khan was *“the most-visited prisoner in Pakistan’s history”* and that the court had already allowed meetings under the **jail manual**.

He mocked PTI leaders for their demands during meetings with Imran Khan, saying, *“They want him seated in the lawn, no time limits, coffee instead of tea, and mangoes replaced with guavas — but you’re not visiting your uncle; you’re visiting a prisoner, and meetings will happen under jail rules.”*

When asked whether **Imran Khan could be shifted to Bani Gala**, Chaudhry dismissed the reports as **PTI propaganda**, saying, *“Such rumors are spread by PTI to create hype. Even the interior minister said PTI should name one person who was offered a deal — it’s always PTI themselves who bring deal proposals.”*

He further alleged that Imran Khan was once again trying to **negotiate a political deal**, this time claiming he could *“mediate peace with Afghanistan.”* Chaudhry said, *“There is no real issue with Afghanistan — this problem exists only because Imran Khan created it. He’s trying to blackmail the state for another deal.”*

When asked whether Khan might be moved to Bani Gala as a goodwill gesture, Chaudhry replied, *“Goodwill for what? What good deed has he done? If Imran Khan wants to be shifted somewhere, he should file a formal request. Let him say it publicly and in writing — whether it’s Bani Gala or Nathia Gali — and it will be considered accordingly.”*
