“Just Because Someone Is in Jail Today Doesn’t Mean They’ll Remain in Jail Tomorrow”: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

KARACHI (Qudrat Daily) – Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the politics of extremism is causing the most harm to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and if PTI does not change its political attitude, its role in the provincial government will also not remain. Addressing an event in Karachi, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that if someone is in jail today, it does not mean they will remain in jail tomorrow; however, if extremism continues in politics, PTI founder Imran Khan could also break former President Asif Ali Zardari’s record of imprisonment.
He said that Asif Ali Zardari holds the record of spending 14 years in jail in Pakistan’s history, and at one point he spent eight consecutive years in prison.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that if PTI remains committed to the politics of extremism, it will have negative effects on its political future. Speaking on the possibility of governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the PPP chairman said that governor’s rule would be the last option. He stressed that political parties should prioritize democratic principles and political dialogue instead of extremism, because the politics of confrontation harms not only political parties but also the country.
