Two Blasts in Dera Ismail Khan: SP Operations Among Three Police Officers Martyred

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Two powerful explosions rocked Dera Ismail Khan on Friday, killing **SP Operations Asad Zubair** and two other police personnel, while several others were injured.

According to police officials, the first explosion occurred in the **Ghalmina area of Hangu**, where terrorists blew up a police checkpoint using explosives. Although no casualties were reported in the initial blast, the checkpoint was completely destroyed.

Shortly afterward, as **SP Asad Zubair** and his team were heading toward the blast site to assess the situation, their vehicle was targeted with an **improvised explosive device (IED)** near **Darban**. The second explosion resulted in the martyrdom of the SP and two police officers.

Local residents reported hearing the blast from a distance, which caused panic across the area. Law enforcement agencies quickly cordoned off the site, while rescue teams shifted the **bodies and injured personnel to DHQ Hospital Dera Ismail Khan**.

Security forces have launched a **search operation** to trace the perpetrators, while authorities condemned the attack as a **cowardly act of terrorism** aimed at destabilizing the region.

This incident marks another deadly strike on security personnel in **Khyber Pakhtunkhwa**, a province that has seen a recent surge in militant attacks targeting police and law enforcement.
