Pakistan Air Force JF-17 Thunder Squadron Arrives in Azerbaijan for Joint Air Exercise

ISLAMABAD: A contingent of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), equipped with state-of-the-art JF-17 Thunder Block III fighter jets, has arrived in Azerbaijan to participate in the bilateral air exercise *“Indus Shield Alpha.”*

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the PAF contingent, comprising skilled air and ground crew, will take part in the exercise aimed at enhancing cooperation and interoperability between the air forces of Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

During the deployment, PAF aircraft demonstrated exceptional endurance and operational capability by completing a non-stop flight from Pakistan to Azerbaijan. The in-flight refueling was carried out with precision by the PAF’s own IL-78 aerial refueling tanker, showcasing the professionalism and long-range operational readiness of the force.


The *“Indus Shield Alpha”* exercise focuses on advancing mutual understanding, strategic coordination, and modern aerial warfare tactics. The drills have been designed in line with evolving technologies and contemporary air combat requirements, further strengthening defense cooperation between the two brotherly nations.
