Meta Launches ‘Insta Road Map’ Feature in Pakistan to Enhance Local Discovery and Privacy Controls
Islamabad: Meta has officially launched the **Insta Road Map** feature in Pakistan, introducing a new interactive way for Instagram users to **discover content, share locations**, and **stay connected** with friends — all while maintaining **strong privacy controls**.
According to Meta, the new feature is **accessible directly above users’ DM inbox** and allows them to **share their locations** and **explore stories, reels, posts, and notes** tagged with specific places. This helps users easily see what their friends or favorite creators are sharing from **concerts, cafés, or local venues**.
Users can also **choose who sees their last active location** — whether it’s selected friends, close friends only, or no one at all. For **teen users**, Meta has ensured **parental supervision tools**, allowing parents to **view and manage their child’s sharing preferences** for added safety.
The update also brings **improvements to the Instagram Map experience**, including the **removal of profile photos** from map content, **clearer indicators** when location sharing is turned off, and **previews** showing how tagged content will appear.
Meta says the rollout aims to **enhance local engagement** in Pakistan by combining discovery, connection, and privacy into one seamless experience.
