Two Pakistans Not Acceptable, Say National Party Leaders at Quetta Rally

Quetta:Leaders of the National Party (NP) declared that “two Pakistans” — one prosperous and one deprived — cannot be accepted, stressing that progress and prosperity must be equal for all citizens. The remarks came during a large public gathering in Hazara Town, Quetta, attended by party leaders, workers, and local residents, including women.

Speaking at the rally, NP’s Central Secretary General Mir Kabir Ahmed Muhammad Shahi said that the absence of basic facilities in Hazara Town is the result of election manipulation and stolen mandates. He criticized past and present representatives for neglecting the Hazara community, accusing them of failing to address their needs while people suffer from lack of water, electricity, and safety. He also raised serious concerns over the issue of missing persons, calling it one of the gravest problems faced by families in Balochistan.

Other leaders, including NP’s Senior Vice President Mir Shawas Hasil Bizenjo, Provincial General Secretary Advocate Chengez Hai Baloch, and MPA Kulsoom Niaz Baloch, condemned widespread lawlessness and poor governance. They said that despite heavy security presence, ordinary citizens remain unsafe while motorcyclists are often harassed without reason.

Dr. Ramzan Hazara, a member of the NP Central Committee, alleged massive corruption in water supply projects for Hazara Town and held former representatives responsible for ignoring the community’s fundamental rights. He warned that if the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) fails to resolve the water crisis, the party will announce a fresh protest campaign.

NP leaders reiterated that the state must ensure equality among all nationalities and provide Balochistan with its due share in natural resources such as Reko Diq, Saindak, and Gwadar Port. They also demanded an increase in the NFC Award, reforms in governance, and action against drug dealers and extortionists.
