Punjab Conducts Largest Flood Survey in History; Over 81,000 Victims’ Data Collected

LAHORE: Punjab is carrying out the largest flood survey in its history, covering 27 affected districts where thousands of flood victims’ records are being documented. The initiative is being conducted on the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), as many as 1,857 teams are actively working across flood-hit areas. So far, details of **81,510 victims** have been collected.
Survey teams have gathered data from **56,207 farmers** regarding crop losses and identified **53,985 acres** of flood-affected land. Additionally, details of **24,246 damaged houses** and **1,057 people who lost livestock** have been recorded, with reports of **3,945 animal deaths** received from different districts.
PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia stated that representatives from the Urban Unit, Revenue, Agriculture, Livestock, and Pakistan Army are conducting door-to-door surveys to ensure accurate data collection. The PDMA is also reviewing survey progress on a daily basis.
In several areas, teams are using boats to access submerged villages and collect information from affected families. The PDMA has instructed all teams to strictly follow the Chief Minister’s vision to ensure that no victim is left unaccounted for.
During the survey, an elderly resident praised CM Maryam Nawaz’s efforts, expressing confidence that she would compensate the flood-affected communities. He also raised slogans in favor of Maryam Nawaz and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif while thanking the survey teams.
