Flight Delays in Karachi Due to Bad Weather and Operational Issues

KARACHI: Several domestic flights faced significant delays on Friday as bad weather and administrative challenges disrupted operations at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.

According to the flight schedule, five flights operating between Karachi and Islamabad were delayed by 1 to 9 hours. Additionally, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) canceled flights PK-636 from Sukkur to Karachi and PK-501 and PK-502 between Karachi and Turbat.

Private airlines also faced disruptions, with Islamabad-bound flights delayed by 6 to 7 hours, while PIA’s Karachi–Islamabad flights PK-300 and PK-301 were delayed by about 90 minutes. Four private flights on the Karachi–Lahore route were delayed by 1 to 4 hours.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported cloudy weather with chances of drizzle and light rain in the city. Northeasterly winds are blowing at 22 km/h, with the current temperature recorded at 31°C and humidity at 69 percent.

Today’s minimum temperature was 27°C, while the maximum is expected to remain between 32°C and 34°C.
