Pakistan Allocates 2,000 MW Power for Bitcoin Mining and AI Data Centers in Push Toward Digital Economy

In a major step toward embracing the **Digital Pakistan** vision, the Government of Pakistan has allocated **2,000 megawatts of electricity** specifically for **Bitcoin mining operations** and **AI data centers**.

According to official reports, the **Ministry of Finance** stated that the country has launched a comprehensive digital strategy under the **Pakistan Crypto Council**, aimed at integrating modern technologies into the national economy.

Finance Minister **Muhammad Aurangzeb** said this move would open up **new channels of foreign exchange** and contribute to **economic stability**.

> “By transitioning to a digital economy, Pakistan is not only modernizing its financial infrastructure but also creating opportunities for **billions of dollars in foreign investment**,” he added.

Estimates suggest that **over 40 million Pakistanis** are now involved in cryptocurrency in some form, signaling a ripe environment for a **new era of digital growth**.

The Ministry further noted that **Pakistan’s strategic geographic location** makes it an ideal candidate to become a **global data hub**, attracting international tech companies and blockchain enterprises.
