Court Cancels Non-Bailable Arrest Warrants for Ali Amin Gandapur in Audio Leak Case

ISLAMABAD: The non-bailable arrest warrants issued against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in the audio leak case were cancelled shortly after being issued.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Nasrullah Baloch had earlier issued the warrants due to Gandapur’s absence, while a co-accused appeared before the court. The judge initially ordered his arrest and production before the court.
Later, Gandapur’s counsel, Raja Zahoor-ul-Hasan, appeared and argued that the warrants had been issued in his absence due to a lawyers’ strike. He further contended that the Peshawar High Court had restrained authorities from arresting Gandapur in any case for three weeks.
Subsequently, the court accepted the cancellation request and directed Gandapur to ensure his presence at the next hearing. The case has been adjourned until November 5. The FIR against Gandapur was registered at Golra Police Station.
