Sindh Government Launches Free Pink Electric Scooters for Women

KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced the launch of the **Pink Scooters Program**, under which free electric scooters will be provided to women across the province.

The decision was finalized in a high-level meeting chaired by Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, attended by Transport Secretary Asad Zaman, Sindh Mass Transit Authority MD Kanwal Bhutto, and other officials.

Sharjeel Memon said the provincial government is taking a revolutionary step this week to facilitate women and female students, making their daily commute safer, easier, and more dignified. He added that the initiative will not only save time and money but also empower women with a reliable mode of transport.

The program is especially designed for women who rely on public transport for education, employment, and essential needs. Applications are being processed by the Sindh Mass Transit Authority, and scooters will be allotted on the basis of merit and need.

Memon further stated that the government has devised a transparent and simple mechanism to ensure maximum participation. He encouraged students and working women to take full advantage of the facility, enabling them to play a greater role in education, employment, and social activities.

“This is a step towards women’s independence and empowerment in every field of life,” the minister added.
