Turbat: Family Marks 11 Years Since Disappearance of Teacher and Balochi Singer Rafiq Oman

Turbat:The family of missing schoolteacher and renowned Balochi singer **Rafiq Oman** marked the completion of **11 years since his disappearance** by holding a press conference at Turbat Press Club.
Accompanied by her mother and grandmother, Oman’s daughter said her father, who was the headmaster of Government Boys High School, Buleda, and also a Balochi singer, was **forcibly disappeared on 21 November 2014** near Kech Grammar School while returning from Turbat on official duty.
She said the family still doesn’t know whether her father is alive. “My younger sister was born months after his disappearance and has never seen him. My grandmother spends sleepless nights in hope of her son’s return,” she added.
The family lamented that despite approaching **courts, commissions, and government institutions**, no progress has been made, leaving them in **severe psychological and financial distress**. They demanded that if there are allegations against him, he should be produced before a court of law.
Appealing to the government and human rights organizations, they urged for the **immediate recovery of Rafiq Oman** and called for a **serious policy to resolve the issue of missing persons**. The family pledged to continue their struggle peacefully and expressed hope that the **media would amplify their voice** to the authorities.
