Family Alleges CTD Raid and Illegal Detention in Quetta

Quetta – Dr. Qurat-ul-Ain, a resident of Quetta, along with her parents and Chairman of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) Nasrullah Baloch, has alleged that officials of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), accompanied by plainclothes personnel, raided their home last night and illegally detained her brother.
Speaking at an emergency press conference at the protest camp on Adalat Road on Wednesday, she said that in the night between September 16 and 17, CTD officials and plainclothes men raided their house in Randabad, Sabzal Road. They allegedly arrested her brother, Aqeel Ahmed son of Lal Muhammad, without justification, subjected her, her mother, and nephew to physical assault, and took away three mobile phones along with other belongings.
Dr. Qurat-ul-Ain said the family has CCTV footage of the raid. She condemned the action and appealed to higher authorities to take notice of what she termed an unlawful act, ensure the release of her brother, and spare the family from further mental distress.
