PTI Facing Severe Internal Rifts, Movement Unlikely to Succeed: Sher Afzal Marwat

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of National Assembly Sher Afzal Marwat has said the party is deeply divided and plagued by internal conflicts, making the success of any movement nearly impossible under current conditions. He also dismissed reports about the return of PTI founder Imran Khan’s children, saying the narrative was merely spiced up to stir interest in the campaign.
Speaking on HUM News program “Question Hour,” Marwat stated that neither Imran Khan has decided on his children’s return, nor is it realistically expected. “The talk about their return was just to add flavor to the movement,” he remarked.
He revealed that PTI meetings often start and end in abusive arguments. He added, “If the current leadership succeeds in protest efforts, I will apologize. But if they fail, I will take over the leadership and show how to mobilize the public.”
Marwat further stated that internal sabotage has hurt PTI’s cause more than anything else. “If we hadn’t cut our own feet, we could have secured the release of Imran Khan by May 2024,” he said.
He also accused Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, of calling him a traitor on media and having him removed from the party. Highlighting issues in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he alleged that the Senate election there has turned into a marketplace, while the province’s roads are in a dilapidated state.
