Police Repel Terrorist Attacks in Bannu and Karak, Three Militants Killed

Peshawar – Security forces successfully thwarted terrorist attacks in Bannu and Karak districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa late last night.
According to Regional Police Officer (RPO) Bannu, terrorists first targeted the **Meryan police station** but the assault was repelled within 20 minutes. Later, dozens of militants armed with heavy weapons attacked the **Mazang checkpoint**, where an exchange of fire lasted for over an hour. Police killed **three terrorists** and injured **four others**, while their accomplices managed to escape with the casualties. Three policemen sustained minor injuries.
In a separate incident, terrorists attempted to storm the **Girari police station in Karak**, but police engaged them in a gun battle and prevented them from advancing towards the facility.
Authorities praised the police for their bravery and swift response, which foiled both attacks and averted major losses.
