Petroleum Prices Likely to Rise from September 16; Diesel May Go Up by Rs. 4.79 per Litre

ISLAMABAD: Petroleum product prices are expected to rise from September 16, with diesel facing the steepest hike, industry sources revealed.

According to initial calculations prepared by the industry, petrol may increase by Rs. 1.54 per litre, high-speed diesel by Rs. 4.79, kerosene oil by Rs. 3.06, and light diesel by Rs. 3.68 per litre.

Sources said the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) will forward its final working to the Petroleum Division on September 15. The Petroleum Division and Ministry of Finance will then send a summary to the Prime Minister, after adjusting petroleum levy and other taxes.

The final approval of petroleum prices will be given by the Prime Minister.
