UK Announces Over Rs 1 Billion in Emergency Aid for Pakistan’s Flood Victims

Islamabad: The United Kingdom has announced over Rs 1 billion (equivalent to £3 million) in emergency humanitarian aid for flood-affected communities in Pakistan.

The announcement was made during a meeting between British High Commissioner Jane Marriott and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar. The British envoy expressed solidarity with Pakistan in the wake of the devastation caused by recent floods and monsoon rains.

The High Commissioner reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to supporting Pakistan during this difficult time and announced an immediate £3 million emergency relief package, along with additional humanitarian assistance to help those in need.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar thanked the British government for its timely support and solidarity, stating that the aid would provide much-needed relief to the affected populations.

During the meeting, both sides also discussed bilateral relations, the importance of high-level engagements, and the evolving regional situation.
