19 Pakistanis Missing After Boat Tragedy Near Oman, One Survivor Rescued

Muscat: A tragic boat accident near the coast of Oman has left **19 Pakistani nationals missing**, while only **one survivor** has been rescued, according to initial reports.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) of Pakistan has prepared a preliminary report into the incident, revealing that the boat carrying 20 Pakistanis **departed from Gwadar**, attempting to reach Oman via Iran, before it **sank on September 7** during a storm.
According to the report, the boat caught fire after a **gas cylinder explosion**, forcing all passengers to jump into the sea. Only **one person, identified as Hamidullah Khan**, survived and was rescued by a passing vessel. He is currently in **custody of Omani authorities**, while the Pakistani embassy is making arrangements for his repatriation.
Hamidullah Khan has identified **11 out of the 19 missing individuals**, while efforts are ongoing to gather information about the remaining passengers. The Pakistani Foreign Ministry is in contact with the **Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs** for further details.
The Pakistani mission in Oman remains in close coordination with **local police and immigration authorities**, while the FIA and Foreign Office await a **full investigation report** into the incident.
