NDMA Issues High Flood Alert for Southern and Eastern Balochistan

Balochistan:The **National Disaster Management Authority’s (NDMA) National Emergencies Operation Centre** has issued a **high flood alert** for southern and eastern districts of Balochistan over the next **24 to 48 hours**, warning of heavy rainfall that could pose serious threats to local populations and infrastructure.

According to the **Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD)** and NDMA, districts likely to be affected include **Lasbela, Hub, Khuzdar, Awaran, Barkhan, Sui, Sibi, Dera Bugti, Naseerabad, Kohlu, Kalat, Zhob, Kech, Gwadar, Pasni, Ormara, Sorab, and southern Washuk**.

Authorities have directed **local administrations** to:

* Mobilize **rescue and relief teams**.
* Prepare **emergency shelters**.
* Ensure readiness for the **restoration of road links** in flood-hit areas.

The public has been urged to:

* **Avoid unnecessary travel**, especially in vulnerable flood-prone areas.
* Stay away from **weak structures, electric poles, and trees**.
* Park vehicles in **safe locations**.
* **Refrain from crossing flooded roads or underpasses**.

Officials warned that heavy downpours may lead to **urban flooding, landslides, and severe disruptions** in affected districts.
