Hearing on Imran Khan’s Bail Pleas in Seven Cases Adjourned Without Proceedings

Rawalpindi: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Monday adjourned without proceedings the hearing of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s bail petitions in seven cases until September 13.
The court also postponed until the same date the hearing of a plea seeking the formation of a medical board for the former prime minister.
The hearing was conducted by ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah, with Prosecutor Zaheer Shah present. The bail applications were filed by Khan’s legal team in seven cases registered in Rawalpindi, Taxila, and other police stations. These cases include serious charges of murder, conspiracy, and arson.
Khan has already been arrested and placed under judicial custody in connection with these cases.
Speaking to the media outside the court, PTI’s legal team members Muhammad Faisal Malik and Ghulam Hasnain Murtaza said that the prosecution sought more time on the grounds that case records were not available.
Faisal Malik stated, *“We urged the court that our bail petitions are not being heard, and the prosecution is not presenting arguments.”* The court, however, directed the prosecution to complete its arguments at the next hearing.
Khan’s counsel expressed optimism that the PTI founder would be granted bail on merit in all seven cases at the upcoming hearing.
