Heated Exchanges in PTI Parliamentary Party Meeting as Members Trade Allegations

ISLAMABAD: A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary party meeting turned tense when Sheikh Waqas Akram questioned the performance of Junaid Akbar in the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), sparking a heated exchange between the two.

According to sources, Waqas Akram criticized Akbar’s performance as disappointing, to which Junaid Akbar retaliated by calling him a “political nomad” unfit to question others. Akbar further challenged Waqas to demonstrate his own performance within a year, pointing out that former MNA Jamshed Dasti, despite not being a member, had still managed to raise issues.

Akbar also reminded Waqas that he had been absent from Parliament for the past year, questioning his credibility in demanding accountability. He further addressed allegations that he had asked the Speaker not to accept certain resignations.

Sources revealed that PTI members decided to place the issue before the party founder, stressing that any communication with him in Adiala Jail should be carried out through a non-controversial messenger.
