Journalist Responds to Saba Qamar’s Legal Notice, Promises to Reveal More Facts

LAHORE: Renowned actress **Saba Qamar** had issued a **PKR 100 million legal notice** to journalist **Naeem Hanif** over allegations he made regarding her personal life. Following the notice, Hanif broke his silence and presented his stance in a recent podcast.
Speaking on the podcast, Hanif said, *“Criticism is the beauty of media and digital platforms, and I accept it with an open heart. I have been active in this field for a long time and know when criticism is genuine and when it is manufactured.”*
He added that he has faced many such criticisms in the past and is prepared to confront them. Hanif further clarified that he will reveal additional facts when the time is right.
Discussing his journalistic career, Hanif said that he is **well-trained** and fully aware of how censorship works. He asserted that he is **not afraid of any restrictions or legal notices** and knows how to maintain a strong stance while keeping his journalism clean and credible.
The dispute stems from Hanif’s claim that Saba Qamar had personal ties with a man during 2003–2004 while residing at a house provided by him on Walton Road, Lahore. Hanif also alleged that the man harassed the actress after the relationship ended and that she approached the relevant authorities regarding the matter.
Saba Qamar **denied all allegations as false and baseless** and pursued legal action, issuing a PKR 100 million notice against Hanif.
Hanif’s recent remarks indicate that the controversy may continue, with promises to disclose further information at an appropriate time.
