Murder of Two Brothers Over 30 Rupees or a Planned Conspiracy? Journalist Amjad Bukhari Raises Questions

Lahore: A dispute over a mere 30 rupees has reportedly led to the brutal killing of two brothers in Raiwind. Two alleged murderers were killed in a police encounter, but a unique claim has emerged regarding the deaths of the young men, Wajid and Rashid, from the Ratti Pindi area of Kasur.

Journalist Amjad Bukhari, citing local sources, has suggested that the two victims, who ran an ice factory and a milk shop in their village, were involved in a long-standing family feud. Bukhari stated that the doors of the victims’ home still bore bullet marks, indicating a deeper layer to the incident.

According to the journalist, the case might not be as straightforward as it appears, nor limited to the viral video circulating on social media. There is suspicion surrounding the involvement of a street vendor named Owais, who runs a cart near the Bambh area on the Raiwind-Kasur road. Owais, along with his four brothers and two brothers-in-law, is allegedly connected to a notorious gang of robbers. One of the brothers reportedly acted as a lookout, monitoring motorcycles and cars passing by, informing the gang of potential targets.

Amjad Bukhari further claimed that Wajid and Rashid, while returning from Lahore, had bought bananas from Owais’s cart. The victims were carrying around 1.25 lakh rupees, and as they took the money out, Owais allegedly started a quarrel with them. The argument seemed to be a cover to steal their money. At the same time, one of Owais’s associates arrived with cricket bats and wickets.

Bukhari questioned how a cricket bat and wickets could have arrived at the scene, as there were no nearby cricket grounds or roads to justify their presence. Reports also suggested that the person wielding the bat was a close friend of the victims’ adversaries. Following the murder, members of the rival group allegedly visited the victims’ home, assuring the family that they had no involvement in the killing and offered to cooperate in bringing the real culprits to justice.

Currently, two of the murder suspects have been killed in police encounters, while two others remain at large. The key question that remains is whether only four individuals were involved in the crime. Meanwhile, the victims’ family has expressed full confidence in the police and authorities.
