CM Sarfraz Bugti Inaugurates Modern Medical Facilities at Civil Sandeman Hospital Quetta

QUETTA:Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti inaugurated state-of-the-art medical facilities, including MRI, Cath Lab, and a fully digital pharmacy, at Civil Sandeman Hospital Quetta.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Advisor Naseem ur Rehman Mullahkhail, MPAs Zarak Mandokhail, Ali Madad Jatak, Asfandyar Kakar, Asghar Khan Tareen, Health Secretary Mujeeb ur Rehman Paniyzai, Director General Health Dr. Amin Khan Mandokhail, MS Dr. Hadi Khan, and other senior officials.

The CM inspected various hospital departments and reviewed the new facilities, stating that the provincial government is taking serious measures to provide quality healthcare to the public.

On the occasion, he also announced the nomination of renowned medical professional Dr. Wasi for a top civil award. He praised Dr. Wasi for leaving a lucrative career in England, where he earned Rs. 3.2 million per month, to serve in Balochistan with just Rs. 150,000 salary purely out of passion for public service. *“Individuals like Dr. Wasi are the true pride and asset of our society,”* Bugti said.

Speaking to the media, CM Bugti said Civil Hospital is the largest medical institution in the province, and Rs. 1 billion has been allocated in the budget for its reconstruction and procurement of modern machinery. He added that the newly installed 1.5 Tesla MRI machine is among the most advanced models and will remain operational 24/7, while Cath Lab facilities have also been made available for patients.

Highlighting reforms, he said the pharmacy system has been completely digitalized to ensure transparency and eliminate corruption, which was rampant in the past. He appreciated the performance of the health department team, led by the health minister and secretary, and said all positive suggestions for further reforms would be welcomed.

The CM made it clear that while the government is open to dialogue to address concerns, there will be no compromise on public interest. He warned that any government employee involved in political activities would face strict action under the BEDA Act. *“No pressure or blackmailing from any group will be accepted. The government will stand by the poor and vulnerable who suffer in the harsh winters and scorching summers. Quality healthcare is every citizen’s right, and we are determined to provide it to the people of Balochistan,”* Bugti added.
