Imran Khan Directs PTI to Resign from All National Assembly Committees

Rawalpindi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has instructed his party members to resign from all National Assembly committees.

Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail along with her two sisters, Aleema Khan expressed gratitude to party workers for standing by them for months. She said that despite repeated attempts over the past three months, they were denied meetings with Imran Khan, but finally, after four months, all sisters were allowed to meet him.

She revealed that lawyers including Salman Akram Raja, Barrister Gohar, and Ali Zafar also met Imran Khan, adding that his health is fine except for an eye issue, for which a court petition has been filed. Doctors from PIMS Hospital will examine and treat the condition.

Aleema Khan said the PTI founder was deeply concerned about his wife, Bushra Bibi, and was informed about the arrests of Sher Shah and Shah Riaz.

She quoted Imran Khan as saying that the punishments and disqualifications he is facing are unprecedented in Pakistan’s history, adding that cricket has been destroyed under Mohsin Naqvi’s tenure. He also expressed sorrow over the devastation caused by floods in Buner and other areas.

According to Aleema Khan, Imran Khan instructed the party to resign from all parliamentary committees and directed Barrister Gohar and Salman Akram Raja regarding the upcoming by-elections, emphasizing that PTI should not participate in them as doing so would give legitimacy to the electoral process.

It is worth mentioning that PTI had recently announced candidates for two constituencies in the upcoming by-polls.
