Pakistan Condemns Drone and Missile Attacks in UAE, PM Expresses Solidarity with Emirati Leadership

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the reported missile and drone attacks in the United Arab Emirates and expressed full solidarity with President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

In a statement, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan stands with the people and government of the UAE in this difficult time. He also stressed the importance of creating a conducive environment for dialogue and diplomacy to reduce tensions in the region.

The remarks came after UAE authorities claimed that multiple ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones targeted different locations in the country, triggering activation of air defence systems. According to UAE defence officials, at least 12 ballistic missiles, 3 cruise missiles, and 4 drones were involved in the reported attacks, with three people suffering minor injuries.

Reports also suggested that a petroleum facility in Fujairah caught fire following a drone strike, while flight operations at airports in Dubai and Sharjah were temporarily suspended.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard spokesperson rejected claims of a pre-planned attack on Fujairah oil facilities, stating that the incident was linked to what it described as U.S. military activities in the region. The statement further warned of potential retaliation if additional attacks occur, and accused the UAE of involvement in recent actions against Iran.

The situation has heightened regional tensions amid ongoing geopolitical disputes in the Gulf region.
