Family Demands Immediate Release of Missing Youth Sadiq Murad in Press Conference at Karachi Press Club

Karachi:The family of 26-year-old Sadiq Murad, a resident of Kala Board, Siddiq Village in Karachi’s Malir district, held an emotional press conference at the Karachi Press Club today, demanding his immediate and safe return after his alleged enforced disappearance.
Speaking to media representatives, the family claimed that in the early hours of August 23, around 5:30 AM, officials believed to be from the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), police, and some in plain clothes stormed their home without any legal documentation. “They broke down the doors like bandits, assaulted elderly family members and children, and took Sadiq away without showing any warrant or explanation,” said one of the relatives.
The family insisted that Sadiq is innocent and has no connection to any criminal activity. “He is a student and the light of our home. We are completely shattered. Why is the state making us feel so helpless?” a grieving family member said with tearful eyes.
Criticizing the judicial and government institutions, the family expressed their frustration, claiming they had found no support or redress. “We are raising our voice through the media because those who are supposed to provide justice have failed us,” they said.
Relatives and supporters who attended the press conference condemned enforced disappearances as a grave violation of human rights. “This is a serious crime that cannot be tolerated. Silence empowers the oppressors—only collective action can lead to justice,” one participant said.
The family appealed to the public and human rights organizations to join their protest in large numbers and stand against the growing incidents of enforced disappearances in Pakistan.
They concluded the press conference by urging authorities to ensure the **immediate and safe release of Sadiq Murad**, and called for accountability of those responsible for such unlawful actions.
