New Monsoon System Likely to Hit Karachi and Most Parts of Sindh from August 27, Says Met Office

Karachi:The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted that another monsoon system is expected to impact Karachi and several other parts of Sindh starting from **August 27**.

According to the Met Office, **light rain and drizzle** in various areas of Karachi on Saturday morning brought relief from the heat and added a pleasant touch to the weather. Areas including **North Nazimabad, Board Office, Hyderi, Scheme 33, Saddar**, and **Shahrah-e-Faisal** recorded light rainfall.

The PMD further stated that **heavy rains are expected in upper and central parts of the country starting today through August 27**, due to the incoming monsoon system. The system is expected to bring widespread rain to **Sindh**, including **Karachi**, between **August 27 and 29**.

Monsoon winds are entering the **northern regions of the country**, and rainfall is expected in parts of **Sindh and Balochistan** during the same period. Areas such as **Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot**, and surrounding locations may also experience showers.

In addition, **Gilgit-Baltistan** is expected to receive **rain accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms**. Rain is also likely in **Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Kohat**, and **Peshawar**.

Cities including **Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum**, and **Mandi Bahauddin** are also on the forecast list for rainfall. By this evening or night, **Mithi, Tharparkar, Umerkot**, and **Mirpurkhas** may experience **strong winds and thunderstorms with rain**.

The public is advised to stay updated with weather alerts and take necessary precautions, especially in areas prone to **urban flooding**.
